New owners and an extended life for Burton Wold Wind Farm South
13 July 2020

Renewable energy investors Octopus Renewables have acquired Burton Wold Wind Farm South from joint owners Muirhall Energy, WWS Renewables and Infinergy.

Infinergy director Tjiwolt Wierda said: “We are delighted to have achieved this deal with such renowned renewable energy investors which is testament to the hard work our combined teams have put in to deliver a high-quality renewable energy asset. Burton Wold Wind Farm South is at the beginning of its operational life and will generate zero-carbon electricity for many years to come, contributing to the world-wide transition to renewable sources of energy.”

Infinergy recently applied for an extension of the wind farms operational life, which would see the project continuing operations for an additional 10 years, which currently stands at 25 years.

Peter Dias, Investment Director at Octopus Renewables, said: “It has been a great experience working on this deal alongside developers and investors that share our passion for driving the energy transition through investment in renewable energy assets. This acquisition adds to our ever-expanding onshore wind portfolio that has seen us become a market leader in the technology.”
