Welcome to Burton Wold Wind Farm South

Burton Wold Wind Farm is a well known renewable energy project in Northamptonshire, just east of Burton Latimer and north of Finedon. At the moment, the wind farm consists of 10 turbines. Infinergy has investigated land to the south of the site, which belongs to the neighbouring landowner, to see if it could accommodate an extension of this successful wind farm.

This is not the first extension: in 2007 Kettering Borough Council approved the Burton Wold Wind Farm landowner’s plans for an additional 7 turbines to the north. A southern extension of up to 5 wind turbines would complete the Burton Wold Wind Farm, as technical constraints will make further extensions highly unlikely.

Following almost two years of site research, environmental studies and public consultation, the plans for Burton Wold Wind Farm South were submitted to Kettering Borough Council in September 2011.
